We often don’t think about the number of parts and components of our tools and objects for their operation and for us to use them. This is the case in the automotive industry. Your vehicle, either a car, motorcycle, van or lorry, incorporates many parts of the most varied features and many of them are steel tubes.
It is very likely that among them there are some stainless steel tubes that we supply to the numerous industries of the sector both in Europe and in the rest of the world.
Where are these tubes located in your vehicle?
In addition to the exhaust pipe, which has probably already come to your mind, if you open the engine cover and take a look, you will see many capillary tubes and microtubes of different shapes and diameters that connect many things in your motor.
You are going to find them in liquid and gas connections but also as wiring coating and channelling, and performing the most varied functions.
They are going to have different shapes, as they have to connect parts of the engine and its circuits with the utmost precision, yet at some point, those tubes have left out factory either in the form of a bar or coil or, as most usual, cut to the precise measurements.
You will see tubes for air conductions which are connected to the vehicle’s heating and cooling system, water tubes which connect into the radiator and the windscreen wiper sleeves, oil and fuel recovery tubes and also small tubes such as those used for the oil rod or tubes that are directly connected into the engine, such as small pieces that replace other mechanised parts in injection engines.
But there are also many tubes that you can’t even see and that serve to conduct the entire electric system through the frame and chassis or tubes such as those that conduct the brake liquid to the wheels and the liquid of the steering hydraulic system.
What features do these tubes have?
Of course, not any tube is valid. First of all, all the tubes used in the automotive industry must comply with the specific ISO standard, which guarantees their quality and suitability for the application.
Secondly, these tubes must have very specific dimensions and diameters and have to be cut with absolute precision and without burrs.
The tubes leave our factory in this way and meeting the specific features in order to be moulded to the precise shapes required, at your facilities.
